Approval of a pharmacy for training of interns and or pharmacy support personnel
A pharmacy or a pharmacy school that intends to train pharmacist interns or pharmacist's assistants must apply to Council for approval of premises prior to commencing training for pharmacist interns or pharmacist's assistants.
In order to be approved as such, an inspection must be conducted, and the premises must be compliant with the requirements of Good Pharmacy Practice or Good Pharmacy Education Standards. A pharmacy school that has been inspected by Council and still maintains its accreditation status will be approved for a maximum period of 3 years.
The period of approval of the pharmacy premises would be based on the grading, i.e.:
Grade A Pharmacy would be 3 years
Grade B Pharmacy would be 2 years
