Council has developed the Regulations relating to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which will require all registered persons to participate in CPD activities and record them on SAPC’s online platform. The Regulations are awaiting approval and publication by the Minister of Health. While the publication of the CPD regulations is awaited, registered persons are encouraged to submit their CPD activities online. Submission of CPD is, however, compulsory for tutors and pharmacist interns.

The universities are introducing students to Council’s CPD process for the purpose of training in order to prepare students for internship. Each university will determine at which level of study to introduce students to the CPD process. Council has also enhanced the CPD system to allow CPDs submitted by students to be allocated to the respective university assessors for assessment.
