Higher Education Institutions
All the courses/learning programmes that lead to the registration of persons must be accredited/approved by Council. In order for a course to be accredited/approved, an appropriate application form should be completed and submitted to Council according to Council requirements. Providers who wish to offer a Bachelor of Pharmacy qualification must comply with the Standard set by Council and published in the Good Education Standards (GPE).
The following qualifications/supplementary courses are accredited/approved by Council:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy which leads to registration as a pharmacist
- Diploma in Pharmacy Technical Support
- Supplementary training courses i.e. Primary Care Drug Therapy course (PCDT), Immunisation and Injection Technique and Family Planning
Specialities in Pharmacy
In terms of the Regulations relating to the registration of the Specialities of Pharmacists, Council recognises Masters Programmes for registration as Specialists. There are two (2) specialities currently registerable with Council, i.e. Radiopharmacy and Clinical Pharmacokinetics.
