Registered Organisations

All the courses/learning programmes that lead to the registration of persons to practise in the pharmacy profession must be accredited/approved by Council. For a course to be accredited/approved, an appropriate application form should be completed and submitted to Council according to Council requirements.

The following qualifications are accredited/approved by Council:

  • National Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (currently in the teach-out period till 30 June 2027);
  • Further Education Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (currently in the teach-out period till 30 June 2027);
  • Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic) part qualification of Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician;
  • Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic) part qualification of Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician; and
  • Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician.

Skills Development Providers (SDPs) who require accreditation/approval to offer the Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician programme must comply with the relevant provisions of the GPE as set by Council and must complete an application for the accreditation/approval of a course leading to the Occupational Certificate: Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic), Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic) and Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician and submit to Council.
